After her shot she had her follow up appointment with the pediatric urologist. Basically it was a wasted outting on a rainy day. The doctor told me pretty much everything we already knew. There are still kidney stones. Um, yep. They probably developed due to the nutrients she was on in the NICU. Yep. They will probably go away. Mmmhmm. Any questions? Yes, why did we come here again? So he suggested we see the nephrologist as this might be more up his alley. Oh well. I would rather go to 100 too many appointments than miss something that we need to know.
Tomorrow our medical journey continues as Avery has more blood drawn to check her alkphos levels. I am praying that they are down to normal levels so we can stop giving her the sodium. She has been taking medicine orally that is meant to go through an IV and pukes it up every time. So we had a new version made but it is citrusy and makes her reflux flare up. It is a lose/lose situation, so we can only hope tomorrow we get some good news that she can stop taking it all together.
Can't wait to celebrate Avery's first holiday at home tomorrow--Valentine's Day. I couldn't think of a better day to celebrate with her!
